Aristóbulo has been growing coffee for over 50 years. His farm, La Victoria, is part of Café Agrario, an association of producers from Ortega in Tolima.
Aristóbulo planted his gesha trees with seeds from a neighbor that left the area a few months later. He didn't know Gesha was an exotic variety or how his coffee cupped, and once the trees were 3 years old, he had decided to remove them from the lot after the harvest since the production was lower than ideal.
Siruma, a specialty coffee exporter, gave him a few tips on processing and told him to keep his trees. He is now getting a very good income from his Gesha trees and is planting more since Siruma buys 100% of his production.
