Back in March, Jonathan returned to the Dota Valley in Costa Rica to visit with the Naranjo family. We have been purchasing their coffee since 2015. They own the Santa Rosa Micro-Mill and their adjacent farm, La Plaza. They also use their micro-mill to help adjacent farmers process their coffee.
This coffee is produced using a rare process called "Gold Honey". It is created by allowing the coffee to air dry on raised beds at 1900 MASL, on the edge of the mountain. The crosswinds of the South Pacific and the Dota Valley keep the coffee cool, slowing the fermentation, and producing an incredibly sweet and complex tasting coffee.
